Repeated Refrains is an immersive 450’ long by 7’ high layered wall installation. The mural is fabricated with wall covering and aluminum panels printed with archival latex ink. The installation is inspired by the diverse ecosystems within a 100-mile radius of Reno: the forested mountains, the Truckee River, Lake Tahoe, Pyramid Lake, the scrub-covered hillsides, and the expansive desert valleys. The mural shifts between the macroscopic and microscopic levels, seasonal colors and varied environments native to the Reno-Tahoe area. Birds, butterflies, and flowers over 5 feet tall draw viewers into a journey through an altered landscape as they enter Reno-Tahoe Airport.
